Chevron Chair, Blue Bird Chairs, Casual Pink Chair, White Living Room

Signature seating can personalize any home or office decor and can also be a stylish statement in any event space. Often times, unique pieces such as those in the images can be a bit pricey and sometimes hard to find.  If, like most of us you live on a strict budget, try shopping in your local Goodwill or thrift store.  Thrift stores always have odd and unique furniture pieces that can be modernized with a little bit of elbow grease.  Look online for Do-It-Yourself techniques likes refinishing, painting, and reupholstering chairs for instructions and materials lists. A fresh color scheme

Tired of the “same ol’, same ol'” try a fresh color sheme like the muted palette above. Traditional pieces like decorative pumpkins which you generally find in various shades or orange or other earthtones can can painted to match any color scheme you can think of.  They key is to balance the color around the space.  A good rule to follow is to repeat these types of details in odd numbers, i.e. if you add a gold metallic color like the pumpkin in the lower left of the image, repeat the gold metallic in 3 (or 5…) other places in the event space.

Color Stories: Mixed Metallics

Mixed Metallic Centerpiece

Remember the days when weddings and event design were all about mixing two solid colors or even worse, one color and white.  Well, those days are over!  No matter the event, selecting color schemes is all about creating depth and texture.  This season, create a look of opulence by mixing metallics to add sparkle and shine to any occasion.

Gold, silver, copper, bronze, and this season’s “it” metallic, mercury, can be combined in numerous ways for a classic look to a modern contemporary design. Adding a bold color to the mix can make even bigger statement.  Even if you don’t have an event planned in the upcoming months consider using mixed metallics in your holiday decor or in your personal styling…who says you can’t be the center of attention as well.
